Wake
The workday begins. The bedroom lights slowly ramp up to the perfect level so you can move around the room without blinding light or disturbing your partner. The lights in your side of the closet and the bathroom slowly ramp up, too. The discrete mirror TV in the bathroom powers on and is set to your favorite news channel. The audio is playing softly. Stock prices are streaming across an elegant in-wall touch screen. The heated bathroom floor warms up.
Away
It's a weekday morning and you're the last one out of the house. On your way out you press "Away" on the in-wall touch screen by the front door. Lights throughout the house turn off; the thermostat lowers to 64 degrees; the security system arms; all doors lock; music and all TVs are turned off; shades open in different rooms at different times, depending on the position of the sun. This maximizes solar heating and reduces energy consumption.
Home
You're on your way home from a long workday. Before you arrive you press the "Home" button in the Crestron app running on your iPhone. When you arrive the lights throughout the house are set to the perfect levels for each room. The security system will be disarmed and the temperature will be a comfortable 70 degrees. Your favorite iTunes playlist will be playing softly in the kitchen and main living area.
Watch
It's late Sunday afternoon, the perfect time to watch a movie with the kids. Press the "Watch" button and the den is transformed into your own home theater. The lights dim to 30%; shades lower 80% to prevent glare on the TV screen; the movie automatically starts playing, the volume set to the perfect level; the room temperature is maintained at a cozy 70 degrees.
Listen
Saturday night, and you're hosting a dinner party. Your guests are about to arrive. You press "Listen" on the table top touch screen on the kitchen counter. Jazz music plays lightly in the living room, dining room and foyer, setting a relaxing mood; in the basement, the kids entertain themselves listening to Top 40 hits and playing video games; during dinner they're getting a little too rowdy, so you lower the volume from your Android™ phone.
Goodnight
You're watching TV in bed at night. You're ready to go to sleep. The last thing you feel like doing when you can barely keep your eyes open is go around the entire house turning off lights, adjusting shades, arming the security system, lowering the temperature on thermostats and turning off TVs, music and video games.
